Frequency 7X Hubs

Race-tested and World Cup-proven. These state-of-the-art hubs are built to perform at the highest level, at the lowest possible weight.

DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Coating

All WTB ratchets use a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating to deliver greater hardness and significantly lower friction than traditional hard chrome-plated drive systems.

Splined Inner Ratchet Ring

Frequency 7X inner ratchet ring keys into place with splines rather than threads, allowing the hubs to withstand over twice the torque of traditional designs without requiring specialist tools for servicing.

Large Enduro Bearings

Frequency 7X hubs use larger than industry-typical Enduro bearings in both the hub shell and freehub body to increase overall load capacity and create a stiffer axle assembly, improving reliability and reducing maintenance intervals.

40mm deep, 28mm wide

CGR carbon rims are purpose-built for modern gravel, with a 40mm depth and 28mm internal width optimized for wide gravel tires.

TCS Tubeless Ready

TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) is WTB's standardized tubeless rim/tire system. TCS tubeless ready compatible tires eliminate the need for tubes, reduces weight, and accommodates lower tire pressures for improved traction and comfort compared to a traditional tube-type tire.

HOW DOES RIM WIDTH AFFECT TIRE VOLUME AND PROFILE?

Wider rims will cause a tire to also have a wider width, with more air volume within the tire and a flatter tire tread profile than designed for. As a general rule of thumb, a 2mm increase or decrease of inner rim width will result in a tire section width increase or decrease of 1mm. For example, our Nano 40 tire has a tire section width of 40mm on a 21mm inner rim width, however it will have a tire section width of 41mm on a 23mm inner rim width.

15MM END CAPS ON FREQUENCY HUBS?

All CZR i30 front wheels feature hubs with 15mm end caps, but CZR i23 front wheels are assembled using Frequency hubs with 12x100mm front wheel spacing. However, we also sell a 15mm end cap kit on our Replacement Hub Parts page for riders with forks that require the use of a 15mm axle, such as Lauf forks. Swapping the end caps does not require any special tools.

WHY DO CZR i23 WHEELS HAVE A HOOKED BEAD WHILE CZR i30 ARE HOOKLESS?

CZR i23 rims feature a hooked bead because doing so provides a more dependable connection between the tire and rim when running a tire at the higher air pressures that are common with adventure road and gravel riding. CZR i30 rims feature a hookless bead because the smooth bead surface allows for more material to be used in an area when strength is incredibly important. Both CZR i23 and CZR i30 rims are compatible with any tires that comply with ETRTO standards.

ARE THERE TRICKS TO INSTALLING A TIRE ON AN ASYMMETRICAL RIM?

Asymmetrical rims feature a "short" and "long" side. It is helpful to always mount both sides of the tire onto the rim on the "short side" of the rim. The short side of the rim provides the shortest distance between the rim leg/bead and the valley of the rim. Once the first tire bead is completely on the rim, it can be pulled over the rubber portion of the valve and positioned at the deepest part of the rim valley. The other side of the tire can then be installed onto the rim with the least amount of resistance.
