Do I need the studs on my fat bike tire?

So when it comes down to it, do you want a studded or non-studded tire? The studded version is going to provide more bite in icy conditions. There are over 300 stud pockets in our Bailiff tire, you can pick and choose your pattern.  Not so icy conditions? Probably don't need the extra traction/bite that the studs will provide.
