Versatile WTB Venture Tread Expanded to 700c x 40 & 50 Sizes

Posted by on

MILL VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – May 28, 2019 – After endless rider requests for 700c versions of their favorite WTB Road Plus™ tread pattern, WTB has announced the addition of Venture 700c tires in 40 and 50mm widths. The Venture tread pattern was released last year, as the most versatile tread in the WTB 650b Road Plus™ lineup. We’ve now expanded the same tread pattern to 700c sizes, delivering pinnacle performance across the widest range of dirt and gravel conditions without sacrificing efficiency on smooth tarmac or broken pavement.

Balancing speed and confidence, the supportive centerline tread provides traction over hardpack terrain while the countless working edges of the intermediate ridges grab hold through gravel or dirt. Two rows of outer knobs provide additional cornering confidence and sidewall protection on even the roughest gravel roads. Available with black or tan sidewalls, all Venture 40 and 50 tires feature a lightweight TCS™ tubeless casing to optimize both performance and reliability.

“Since the inception of our Road Plus™ tire lines, we’ve been bombarded with requests for 700c versions of the same treads,” stated product marketing manager Clayton Wangbichler. “With Venture 47 quickly proving to be the most popular Road Plus™ tire, it was the obvious first tread pattern to offer in 700c sizes.”

The new Venture 40 and 50 tires share a competitive MSRP of $59.95. Weighing in at 501g for black sidewalls and 472g for tanwall, the Venture 40 is currently available in your local bike shop or at WTB.com. With average production weights to be determined upon arrival, Venture 50 will be in stock within the US by the middle of June. Both widths of the new Venture 700c tires are currently available and shipping in Europe.
